Sam+Brooks=No Sleep

The boys had their pictures taken...awhile ago. I just haven't been able to get them up on our computer yet. Sam is still doing great being the big brother and Brooks is adjusting to sleeping some. He really prefers to be held 23 hours out of the day...which makes it a little hard to get anything done.
We are going to the doctor on Wednesday so hopefully he can give me some insight and we can get this little stinker to sleep in his crib, or swing, or bouncy chair...really I'll take anything!
Brooks is so easy to smile and coo which has made it so much fun and really help me through some sleepless nights.

Brothers

Sorry I haven't been able to post for awhile...I haven't slept for one month, so cut me some slack :)
Brooks is really a great baby. He is very content and easy to pacify...just not much of a sleeper. Sam only slept when he was held and we are noticing the same problem with Brooks. I still feel he is much too young to just cry so we are just going to work on some different tactics over the next few weeks so he can soon find the secret to contentment while sleeping by himself!
Sam is doing great with Brooks. It has been such an answered prayer! He loves his little brother and loves to kiss, hug, and hold him.
My mom has also doubled as my nanny over the past few weeks and I don't know what I would do without her. She will still be coming over in the afternoons so I am able to take a nap which will then get me through the night!
Here are a few pics of the boys!

Brooks

Brooks Wood Akins

Brooks was born at 8:11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 16th. He had a few respiratory problems and was admitted to the NICU immediately. He had numerous tests and x-rays of his lungs, kidney function, and stomach. Luckily, the diagnosis was that he just needed some help to adjust to the world outside the womb. Praise the Lord! That was an extreme emotional roller coaster for Mom and Dad...not to mention the hormones I had going anyway!
I am feeling much better. During Sam's C-Section I lost a little more blood than they typically like to see so they were wanted to do a blood transfusion on me. Jon and I didn't feel comfortable with that so we decided that being a little more tired for another month was better than they worst case scenario for a blood transfusion.
Sam is really doing great at being a big brother! He just giggles when he is around Brooks and loved to shake his hand and feel his little toes.
I don't know what I would do without my amazing husband either! He has been the diaper changing champion and taken care of all the housework. It has been so great to have him around these past two weeks. He puts in a lot of hours at his job so I feel extremely spoiled seeing him this much...it's going to be hard on Sam when Dad isn't around to wrestle all day long!
Here are a few pics of our latest addition!

D-Day

Tomorrow is the day! Jon and I are very excited...and nervous about meeting baby boy #2! Still trying to decide on a name...you know, we have lots of time :) We asked Sam tonight what he wanted to name his little brother and he said, "Frosty the Snowman" gotta love it!

We just finished off a tub of cookie dough (well, mostly me) as my last hoorah before lose baby weight boot camp kicks into gear!

We will try to have pictures and an update soon with our latest addition!
